Where are the rules I design for "Multiple Replace" stored" #8956

SE started acting funny a couple days ago so I saved my work and closed and restarted. When it opened back up the window was the default size again and not the size I have been using forever. I also noticed all my rules in Multiple Replace are gone, it is totally blank.

Is there a backup for these self set rules? If so where is it so I can restore my settings. If it is gone forever I need to rebuild it but I need to know where these settings are saved as I need to back it up myself then so this does not happen again as it is very frustrating .

Multiple replace rules are saved in your "Settings.xml" file in your SE data folder (press ctrl+alt+shift-d in the SE main window to open this folder).

You can also export/import them via the context menu. image

There is no data folder in there. I had already checked under USERS>APPDATA>ROAMING>SUBTITLE EDIT

It is in the parent folder but all my Multiple Replace rules are simply gone. Is there any backup to this settings file because I had a lot of rules that simply vanished when I closed SE the other day.

Thanks, I found the file after you replied on GitHub earlier today but unfortunately for me there are no longer any rules for Multiple Replace so I will have to recreate them which will be quite the task since I had quite a few in there that saved me a lot of time in correcting subs.

I will have to make a backup of the settings file and then any time I make changes to the rules back it up again. I do not want to go through with this again. Is there a log file that would help you figure out why SE simply started acting erratic the other day? Because when it did it was the restart of the program that zeroed out my settings file.

Thanks Ron Kienle
