Use many materials that aren't being installed in the timeline.
This is an interesting one because in order to draw with a different material the material needs to be at the top of the stack. I have a feeling the stacking order of the materials might be a blender issue.

The undo reads the stacking order as well.
Workaround
For now, Draw with different objects.
