This library is wrapping the in-app-updates api released by google. The issue you're describing originates on the google API, I'm afraid I can't help you.

Stack overflow would be the place to ask about the in-app-updates api, apologies but I'll have to close this in hopes of only keeping issues which are bugs of our library specifically.

Feel free to attach a stack overflow ticket to this issue, for others to find in the future.
