How to add an appointment to calendar (on Lollipop)?

I am new to OC.

After having installed it on Android Lollipop I created at first a new calendar "test". Ok.

Now how can I add an appointment?

In Menu on the upper left side there is only an "About" entry.

You need to open your preferred calendar application. There is your newly created offline calendar.
