I am asked early on about filing an affidavit of indigency, but even if I select "no", I am asked about it again. I think the first should be removed if that's possible? I'm assuming it's an e-filing related reason.

Yeah, was an e-filing reason. The text of the first screen is primarily noting that you need to accept the affidavit to e-file (only on a new form), but you're right, we shouldn't ask again.

note to self:

explain_need_affidavit still shows up, need to remove that too
user benefits still asked too, b/c is_indigent is needed to see if the affidavit is enabled. That can be turned off
