Can't complete or accept calls w/ PAP2 ATA #110

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.no dial tone for outgoing
2.phone rings on incoming, but can't connect
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
GV/Sipgate/Sipsorcery

Please provide any additional information below.

Been using the Linksys ATA with no problems for more than a year. Yesterday I
tried to make a outgoing call to no avail and also discovered that I could not
accept calls. The phone rings, but when I answer there is silence. Tried
power reset of ATA. Nothing. Tried using my Droid with Sipdroid with no
problems, so I'm assuming it's a ATA problem. I haven't changed any of my ATA
settings though, so it's a bit confusing. I captured the following in
Sipsorcery as I tried to make a outgoing call today. Any ideas?

Something must be wrong with either ATA or the router. Try to reboot both and
see if it helps. If it doesn't, make sure your GV/SS/Sipgate setup works.
Download a reputable softphone (like X-lite) and configure it to register to
your sipsorcery account. Check if you can make and receive calls. If this
works, something's wrong with your ATA, try to return it to factory defaults
(using IVR) and then configure again from the scratch.

One reason that makes me believe it's your ATA is that you don't get a
dialtone. Linksys ATAs should give a dialtone if the unit is registered to VoIP
provider!

It's definitely an ATA problem. X-lite works without an issue. Please clarify
what IVR is, so I can perform a reset. Thanks

Figured out what IVR is. My problem was phone/patch related and not the ATA.
You can close this thread. Sorry to waste anyone's time.
