Unable to set up IPKall and sip sorcery #115

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Since sipsorcery is closed to new signups, I signed up for the demo. I then
signed up for an account at IPKall(I would of used sipgate one, but I don't
have a cell phone so I can't have the invitation code texted to me...).
I know you don't have to add anything in sip sorcery. Here is what I filled in
for my IPKall account:
Account type: SIP
SIP Phone Number: My sipsorcery username
SIP Proxy: demo.sipsorcery.com:5060
Email: my email address
Password: my sipsorcery password
Seconds to ring before hangup: 120(default)

When I log into sip sorcery, there aren't any bindings under SIP accounts. I
have tried numberous things for the SIP proxy. Here is everything i have tried:
-sipsorcery.com
-sipsorcery.com:5060
-demo.sipsorcery.com
-demo.sipsorcery.com:5060
-sip1.sipsorcery.com
-sip1.sipsorcery.com:5060

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong??
Also, is there another FREE alternative to sipsorcery? (since sipsorcery is
closed to regular signups right now).
I'm planning to use IPKall (or sipgate one if I can sign up without cell
phone), SipSorcery(or an alternative), and Google Voice.
And then I'll either use an ATA or softphone.
Thanks for the replies in advance!

demo.sipsorcery.com works fine for me, Bria successfully registered and I can
see it in the bindings.

Hey,
thanks for the reply.
hehe..I didn't read the tutorial correctly and I thought that the IPKall was
supposed to show up in the bindings. I finally figured it out that and got
X-Lite installed, which rights when I call my IPKall phone. Now I'm just
trying to get an IPKall number that isn't allready set as the forward number in
2 other GV accounts. (really annoying because you can only create 1-2 IPKall
accounts a day).
Right now I'm trying to figure out how to set up a dial plan.
I pasted the simple dial-plan into a new dial plan in SIPsorcery(and deleted
the default). I assume that the script type would be ruby?
I added my area code, GV account, GV password, and call-back number, but the
script isn't working.
When I try calling my magicjack number from X-Lite softphone, I get "ERROR
LOADING DIAL PLAN".
I have tried changing the dial plan to extention script and back, and
double-checked the stuff was correct.
Is there an easy fix for this problem?
Thanks,
-Dan

UPDATE:
I created a new SIPSorcery account and replaced the default dial plan with the
basic dial plan and added my GV stuff and IPKall callback number, and it works
perfectly!
Now, I can just dial a number with the softphone and click call..and receiving
calls works perfectly.
I'm thinking of buying an ATA and ditching my current phone. But, does anyone
have any comments on how reliable IPKall and a Sip Sourcery *DEMO* are? It
looks like there is a 25 call/day limit with the demo account. Does that apply
to both incoming and outgoing calls?
Thanks,
-Dan

If you just need to use GV and you don't have ATA yet, please consider:

http://forum.sipsorcery.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3079

Sipsorcery main server is quite reliable. I don't have much experience with
demo server but presumably it's as good as the main server. And yes, there is a
daily quota, both in and out calls.

Issue was resolved on 1/24 and was not related to the scripts.
