So - I'll comment again to be a bit more specific. Help would be very much
appreciated as I still have not resolved this problem!
More details below. Again, the 'Internet Call' icon loads successfully on my
e71 phone which means it has connected on that end - I think my problem is
either with Sipsorcery or Sipgate. (Again, everything was working fine until
Gizmo went down and I tried to switch to Sipgate).
My calls appear to be 'stopping' at Sipgate in both directions. So, when I
place an outgoing call on the e71, I get one long tone and nothing connects.
When I check my Sipgate page, I see a missed call FROM my google voice #. On
the flip side, when I RECEIVE voicemail from people who have called on my
google voice #, the voicemail is available only through Sipgate... this is very
confusing to me.
Please help! I can add my e71 settings, but again, I do not believe the
problem is with the phone, it is with Sipgate, Google Voice integration.

Delete the voicemail from your sipgate account. You don't ever want to be able
to pick up voicemail at your sipgate account. We are only using it to convert
phone calls from the "regular" phone network to an Internet-only call.

OK, I've deleted voicemail but the fundamental problem is still there... when I
place outgoing calls on the e71 (via sipsorcery) they are not connecting and
simply showing up as missed calls in Sipgate.
Does that mean it is a problem with Sipsorcery? I used the Simple Dial Plan
and just replaced my Gizmo info with Sipgate info, and then started having the
problems...
Let me know if I should post my Sipsorcery info, but again it showing as
'registered' in my sipsorcery page.

I take that back... apparently the calls are connecting on some level.
Actually the calls are showing up as 'received' in Sipgate. And when I
placed a test call to my cell phone, the cell phone did (eventually) ring. But
I can't ever hear anything on the e71 I am calling from - no ringing, no
nothing, so I have no way of knowing if it is really connecting...

Part of the reason we've been slow to respond is because it sounds like you've
set everything up properly -- especially since Google Voice is trying to call
you on your sipgate line. Also, don't get freaked out about sipgate showing the
call coming inbound from GV. That's how its supposed to work.
I know you're showing registered on the SIP Providers tab at SIP Sorcery. What
about sipgate? Is your phone red or green? If it's red, then for some reason
SIP Sorcery is actually not properly registered. A missed call at sipgate means
that SIP Sorcery is actually not registered at sipgate and a red phone would
confirm that. Also, on your sipgate entry on the SIP Providers tab, check the
spelling of your "register contact". You must have
"sip:username@sip.sipsorcery.com" in that field, replacing "username" with the
proper spelling of your SIP Sorcery username.
If you misspelled your username in that field (and your VOIP phone shows red at
sipgate), it would make perfect sense that GV is trying to call you there, but
sipgate is unable to forward the incoming call anywhere, resulting in the
missed call you are describing.
If that doesn't do it, you may be surprised by the number of (weird) errors
that have been resolved by deleting and recreating your sipgate account, your
SIP Sorcery account, or both.

Okay, skip my previous reply. You experiencing the classic "one way audio"
problem. Some people have some luck putting their ATA in the DMZ. Others are
able to get away with opening ports on their firewall to ease things.
Unfortunately, the fact that outbound calls are happening (even though you
can't hear), that means the scripts -- the only things we really distribute and
support here -- are working fine. We can keep trying suggestions here, but you
will find a larger peer population and maybe even dedicated support if you try
the forums at sipgate, SIP Sorcery or SIP softphones, like X-Lite. Again, all
we do here is make sure when you dial a phone number from within your SIP
client, the phone number you called rings. The sound works for most people
first try, but all it takes is for your ISP to mess with your networking even a
little bit and it may never work. Are you using your E71 on wifi? 3G?

Also, if you log into SIP Sorcery while placing a call. Go to the Console tab
and click Connect before placing a call from your SIP client. You should see a
line that reads "Return call received from Google Voice in 2.399 seconds" (or
something along those lines). If instead you see a line that reads "Timed out
waiting for return call from Google Voice", then please see my earlier reply
that you may have misspelled your username on the "Register contact" line in
SIP Sorcery. Everything would appear normal, and the "normal" phone number you
called would ring but have no audio if you misspelled something in the
"register contact" field.

Closing as no reply heard on suggestions 10 months later. Closing as Invalid as
the scripts are completing the call and the "no audio" problem indicates
network issues, not problems with the script.
