What app would you plan to use to receive text messages? Where are you
receiving your
calls? If its on an ATA there's no way to display your SMS and if its on your
cellphone just use your browser to view your SMS inbox. Maybe I'm missing the
significance of what you're asking.
You can see the revision number ("rev" for short) to the right of the source
code
when it is displayed. I have attached a screenshot.

Thanks for clarifying, I am using r85. I am receiving calls through Acrobit's
SIP
softphone version 3.0 on an iPod Touch. I have fring, Nimbuzz, iSip, Skype &
truphone on the iPod Touch and X-Lite (Callcentric) on the PC that I used to
activate the google voice number. I suspect I am not fully grasping what an
ATA is,
and that most of the things I listed here are merely softphones?
I wanted to get SMS on the iPod Touch using my google voice number only because
my
cell phone plan (T-Mobile) is too restrictive with text messaging, no outgoing
and
only a few free incoming. I hope I clarified my question, thanks for your
response.

SellMarg, I know its been 4 months since you opened this. Where do you stand?
Did you
ever figure out the text messaging situation? Have you since learned that you
can
just go to the Google Voice Mobile site to send and receive text messages on
your
iPod Touch? May I close the ticket?
Thanks!

Hello easternPA, another 4 months later from your inquiry to close the ticket.
I'm sorry for the delay! I have successfully resolved this situation using the
Text Now app. I have another question and will post it here. Thank you, the
arrangement is working well.
