Well, what should happen is that Google will call your sipgate number, and
sipgate voicemail will pick up. It'll probably record Google's call screening
menu, and then Google will hang up and send the caller to voicemail. You could
probably set the sipgate voicemail to over a minute or so, and Google will
interpret that as a "non-answer", and send the caller to voicemail. As for
checking voicemail, Google and Sipgate both have options to email the account's
email address whenever a voicemail is received. I believe both also will let
you listen to the voicemail as an email attachment. Try setting up email on
your iPhone, and see if that works.

Google Voice does not let you dial your own GV phone number from your own line.
The first option you have is to alter your SIP Sorcery script to use your
sipgate number to place the call when you dial your own GV number. This means
that you will be charged a per-minute fee whenever you check your voicemail,
but on the other hand, you would also be financially supporting a service that
we have been (arguably) abusing for some time now.

The second option is to look elsewhere in the Source section of this site for a
dialplan for checking your voicemail. It requires that you sign up for a second
Google Voice number but keep it private, and set it up as a forwarding number
(only in your first GV line). Then, use this alternate dial plan and configure
your second GV number. Then, when you want to check your voicemail, the script
will detect when you are calling your primary GV number and use the secondary
GV number to place the call.

Of course, you can setup other short codes for checking your voicemail, like
"111" or whatever. Either way, we are working on it, and you can get in early
on a plan that lets you check your voicemail just by dialing your primary
number.

I know this is over 6 months old. Are there any updates? How are you checking
your GV voicemail? Did you ever sign up for a second GV number and use our
special dialplan for checking your GV voicemail?
