entering combat in party #2979

when u are in party and someone pulls a mob you should also get into combat - if its world it should have like a 20 yards range and if its in a dungeon the range should be infinite, meaning that even someone pulls something at the other end of the dungeon you should enter combat too and if the person who pulled gets killed you should still have the aggro because u are in combat and the mobs should come and kill u

Any source that it should work as you say?

every server Ive played it worked like that, its not natural to be in a dungeon and have mobs 1 yard away fighting with people and you just sitting there drinking

I never had this on any server as you describe. It has always been - if you pull a normal mob, you're in combat. If that mob gives aura to others, they too will get into combat. If you heal or buff the player in combat, you too get into combat. When new mobs arrive or more a pulled, they're in combat with the player doing it and anyone who has active HoT on the player.

The only time everyone gets into combat is when a boss is pulled or "room mechanics" say so (there are few situations to this).

Now, that's how it always was for me. If you find proof it shouldn't be like that in WotLK, post it. Then we have been playing it wrong for a decade long.

OK I think you are right but there still is one problem tho - yesterday I was in a dungeon and I got cleaved by a mob and didnt enter combat - I am pretty sure I should get into combat if I am close enough and get hit

Vaxsysl commented 4 years ago

Then it could be that combat state of cleave works only on main target then and that that should be looked into.
