5 years ago Just to leave a note, I've noticed this as well but was unable to find the information that was supplied.
Fishing skill 310 > 311 took 32 fish Fishing skill 311 > 312 took 2 fish

Description: Fishing skill ups are not happening correctly.
How it works: Per the link http://et.worldofwarcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Fishing that was posted in bug tracker issue #2609 it lists the approximate amount of catches to get a skill up based on your current skill.
This only was close to accurate in the 1-145 skill range after that is is very off in both directions This is my experience getting levels 182-190 which per the linked wiki should of taken approximately 4 catches in this range to get 1 skill up.
182 - 1 catch 183 - 1 catch 184 - 3 catch 185 - 5 catch 186 - 5 catch 187 - 15 catch 188 - 1 catch 189 - 10 catch 190 - 19 catch
272 - 31 catch
As you can see only about 3 were in the correct range and sometimes it only takes 1 which shouldn't happen at this level and sometimes it takes 4-5 times as many catches as should be needed.
How it should work: Per http://et.worldofwarcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Fishing it should follow along that listed catch. Even fishing buddy addon for tbc keeps up with this showing how many needed for your next skill up based on your current level.

Above is me later going from 271 to 272 which i got on the next catch (31) and as you can see using in era fishing buddy even shows it should of only taken approximately 7 catches to hit 272.
