[Raid] Gruul shatter damage not reduced by armor #4121

Open Dimmaro opened 5 years ago

Dimmaro commented 5 years ago

Description: Shatter damage should be physical and therefore reduced by armor

How it works: Shatter damage is not reduced by armor,

How it should work: Shatter damage should be physical and reduced by armor

Source (you should point out proofs of your report, please give us some source): "Shatter: After being Stoned, Gruul will shatter everyone, the damage dealt increases if players are closer to each other. This damage is physical, and goes through immunity shields such as Divine Shield and Ice Block. Ranges from 1100 if just within 15+ yards to over 8.5k if very close. Pets do not cause damage or get damage with this ability, but get stunned anyway." Earliest Version of: http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Gruul_the_Dragonkiller

"Because all of Gruul's abilities do physical damage, using Amplify Magic on every player is recommended." Guide published prior to patch 2.1: https://www.ownedcore.com/forums/world-of-warcraft/world-of-warcraft-guides/13202-gruul-dragonkiller-strategy-guide.html

Additionally, trash mobs before high king are re-spawning after he is killed. They should stop spawning after he is dead.

Based on what?

Shatter damage -should- be reduced by armor. I believe it is. I'll text next week. Will be testing with 30k armor vs 4k.

I tested today with a spriest and myself (tank) stacking with both took exactly same amount of dmg

There is no source saying that Shatter damage should be reduced by armor, only by distance. Also other similar working mechanics damage are not reduced by armor therefore it works as intended.

Shatter ignoring armor makes sense, most of mechanics like that across expansions do ignore armor, also based on your screenshots, vids and so on - it makes even more sense for it to ignore armor (damage complaints above:P)
