Auto pruning, remember deleted files/removed links or do not download list.

I use the auto follow cross links a lot. If Chan Thread Watch needs to be restarted for whatever reason, the links are automatically followed and downloaded again if you have already removed and deleted them. Having ctw maintain a shortlist of links that have been removed and deleted, and auto-prunes links in the shortlist after 72 hours.

SuperGouge commented 10 years ago

Why not just edit the thread and remove the "Follow Cross-Links" option?

snorta commented 10 years ago

I still want the original thread, and want it to follow the subsequent new thread. There are other thread links that are not wanted or I've decided to set to stop watching for one reason or another.

mfw I've downloaded the same tranny thread about 15 times now I like the idea of a do not download list.

Heh, I've been tripped up on that, people posting cock threads as 'new thread' on /sma, meh, enough space to ignore it and remove manually later.

An ignore list would be nice though, to extend on the inter-board following options adding the options to follow /x/ /y/ /z/ but only when coming from /a/ or /b/ would be good, sometimes I want it to follow from /soc/ to /r/ but I don't want it to follow from /soc/ to /b/ (hope that makes sense)

SuperGouge commented 10 years ago

Yes that makes sense. I've thought about adding an "auto-follow policy" when I first implemented the inter-board thingy but I still don't know what form it could take.

SuperGouge

Have you figured out how to implement an autofollow policy? I don't think you'd be able to implement a reliable auto-following policy that is 100% reliable if based on key words. I'd assume that restricting auto-follow to within a select board(s) is about as specific as you can get without impacting the reliability of this function. Safe to say a blacklist of threads to NOT follow is simple though?

And any comments on the other list of feature requests and their eta of implementation? They all seem to be really good ideas.

SuperGouge commented 10 years ago

I would probably go the blacklist road instead of the whitelist one indeed.

As for other features, I probably won't have time to work on CTW until July. I managed to find some time to release all the features of 1.10 but except for important bug fixes there will not be any other update until about a month.
