Lynxchan is currently the most popular open-source software used for alternative imageboards. Examples include 8chan.se and some of the various "webring" boards that all link each other like prolikewoah.com/boards.js. If you ever get back to working on CTW, Lynxchan support would be appreciated.
The other potentially relevant open-source imageboard software would be JSChan, which is not yet considered "production ready" but seems promising and already has some people who prefer it. However at the time of posting the only board actually running it is zzzchan.xyz, and the early state of the software means it is less stable, so I would consider Lynxchan support more important.
