All these responses are completely useless. What version of Minecraft and Chunk Loaders are using? Are you using Fabric or Forge? When does the issue occur? Are there any errors in the logs? Are you playing on a server or in single player?

Just 'yeah stuff might not work randomly' is impossible to fix.

We switched to a different mod, but I'll answer as best I can:

1.19.2, forge 42.3.8(?). Nothing showed in the logs that I can recall. It happens every time the server restarts, and some other random times which I don't know the rhyme or reason of. As mentioned, mine was in multiplayer. It happened to all users.

I've got the same issue on my server, it's a 1.18.2 Forge 40.2.10 server with version 1.2.7 of the mod. The server was on mod version 1.1.12 with the same Forge version until very recently, after updating to 1.2.7 the issue started appearing for multiple people.

I cannot find any errors in debug.log or latest.log, so I'm guessing there's an issue with the mod turning off the chunkloaders by itself somehow. Maybe it has something to do with the chunkloader time-out when people aren't online on the server? I've got that set to the default 10080 minutes right now, but I can try turning it off to see if the issue goes away then.

hey there! i'm not sure if additional information helps at all, but we seem to be having the same problem on our server. chunks unload when the player that placed the chunk loader goes offline, as expected, but then chunk loaders don't reactivate when players come back online. they have to break the loader and place it again.

i really appreciate all of your hard work on this. i know how impossible it is to track down a bug that doesn't seem to be throwing errors or giving any hints of what's wrong. please let me know if there is anything i can do to help! i'm happy to let you poke around at our server, if it would be of any use.

update: looks like it may be related to someaddon's Limited Chunkloading mod. will test further and report back.

MoonMoonShark commented 3 months ago

it does seem that adding Chunk Loaders and Compact Machines to the exception list in the config for Limited Chunkloading has resolved the issue we were having. not sure if this will help anyone else, but everything now seems to be coming back online normally when players sign on.

thank you again, for your patience and hard work on this, and the offer still stands if you need a place to poke around at.
