Describe your system:
 - Operating System (be specific):Ubuntu 10.04
 - Machine type (32-bit or 64-bit):32-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version:1.5
 - Plugins used:default

For visual artifacts, give:
- game name and CRC/MD5 hash (printed on console)
- description of the artifact (missing polygons, flashing, wrong colors,
etc)

Describe the problem:
I tried to set up my ps3 controller on Mupen64Plus. I heard that linux has
built-in joystick compatibility for the PS3 controller. Mupen64Plus
recognized that I had the controller plugged in, but when I tried to map
the buttons into the plugin, it didnt respond...so there was no button
input into the plugin.

Please provide any additional information below.
I am using the regular DS3 controller made by Sony.

First thing -> `cat cat /dev/input/js0` when the output doesn't change after
you press
some buttons than your joystick doesn't work.

Then the ps3 joystick must be paired. So please attach it using usb and press
the "P"
button.

I would guess that this bug report is invalid.

And m64p 1.99.x has already predefined mappings for the sixaxis joysticks for
different
platforms.

I have this same error in 1.5. I am unable to upgrade to 1.99.x, there seems to
be an error in the installation.

This appears to be a system configuration issue. If you can use the joystick
with the SDLJoyTest program (available on our download page), it will work with
Mupen64Plus.
