Version 1.0.7060 connects to Internet Why? #28

Using version 1.0.7060 (64 bit) for the first time. Why does the program access the Internet? I see in the release notes for “Show Key Plus Preview," internet access is necessary -- but not for the version I’m using. Please clarify? Thanks,
