The three action buttons are sharing signal with their respective cv inputs

Using a multimeter and some long metal wire to probe, I believe that the tempo CV goes through

  1. a 10k resistor mounted in the center of the jack's leads
  2. a normal diode going forward on the south side of the jack
  3. pin 9 (ltr wrapping) of the right-side 2x5 header between boards 1-2
  4. pin 2 of the right-side header between board 2-3
  5. the normal/host side of the lowest configuration pin which shunts to the center pin
  6. pin 1 of the right-side header between board 2-3
  7. pin 3 non-inverted input (2nd down on slanted side) of a 072AC Texas Instruments dual op-amp on board 2
  8. pin 1 output from op-amp (1st down on slanted side)
  9. another diode just north of the op-amp
  10. pin 15 of the CD4051BM multiplexer that's on the top left of board 2

which would be channel 2 .. which has already been identified as the tempo knob ... which means that perhaps the tempo cv and knob are added together?

Confirmed with a scope yesterday that tempo CV and tempo knob are combined on a single pin. the knob raises the floor value. the maximum voltage of both is what's on multiplexer channel 2
