Can not start openmeetings - Red5 Also wont start - Ubuntu #293

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
UPon installation using the instructions from the site, on a tested red5
ant built installation, red5 will no longer start up, and, of course
openmeetings will not start up.

Looks like a problem perhaps with log4j???

sorry but your problem is not related to OpenMeetings.
The Exception is:
...
2008-01-14 19:30:24,339 [main] ERROR o.s.web.context.ContextLoader - Context
initialization failed
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean
with
name 'web.scope' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/red5-web.xml]:
Cannot
resolve reference to bean 'web.handler' while setting bean property 'handler';
nested
exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.CannotLoadBeanClassException:
Cannot
find class [org.red5.demos.fitc.Application] for bean with name 'web.handler'
defined
in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/red5-web.xml]; nested exception is
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.red5.demos.fitc.Application

...

which means that you did remove some of the webapps of red5. but did not alter
red5-config. SO red5-config searches for the class
*org.red5.demos.fitc.Application*
and does not find it. I guess you did remove the *fitc-webapp*. Yo uhave to
alter
config too if you remove the webapp.

hmmm. strange...

didnt alter, add, or remove anything.. and if i delete openmeetings from the
webapps
folder, all functions fine again...

can you suggest a workaround to get openmeetings working?

what kind of version of red5 do you have?
did you compile from source package?
did you run *ant dist* to build the red5 dist?

where did you copy openmeetings? into red5/webapps OR red5/dist/webapps
it must be inside red5/dist/webapps NOT into red5/webapps and you should _not_
start
red5 using the ant-script.

SVN checkout of trunk
compiled with
ant clean
ant dist

copied to /dist/webapps/

and started with /dist/red5.sh

and the strange thing is that red5 starts, adn all the demo apps work if i
delete the
openmeetings (xmlcrm) webapp directory...

i am not sure but i have read from red5-mailinglist that there has been trouble
with
build-script in latest trunk of red5.
I do not use trunk. YOu can get red5-0.6.3 from the webside. Then redo the same
steps
and you should be happy.

Ok, will do, and will report back so we can confirm that red-5 trunk is having
problems with openmeetings.
