Purpose is to reduce the odds of hanging in multiprocessing. Explicit pool termination should be safer, and removing a redundant pool initialization was another potential cause. It's still not clear if the hanging issue is caused by the Python code or Azure agent connectivity problems, but it doesn't hurt to improve the code a bit.
