I had the same problem while running the legend of zelda oot, but using parallel on retroarch solved it for me, so it is probably caused by mupen64.
Same issue here, changing compiler/interpreter and changing display filters does nothing.
I have discovered that the same core used in Mupen64Plus-FZ works perfectly. It does not have this issue. Please change to this core so that we can actually play N64 games. Also, I tested the same core used in Lemuroid (Mupen64Plus) in RetroArch and I had the same issue, so it is most likely to do with the core.
Describe the bug the Mupen64Plus core, it simply shows graphical errors, I already tried to change the recompiler and resolution, it still doesn't work.
