Sega core not working for GG and SMS, bios not found?

Describe the bug While the core works for megadrive and genesis games I have been unable to start gamegear and mastersystem games. This behaviour is the same on all my devices. They do run on these devices with retroarch l.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to 'systens'
2. Click on any gamegear or mastersystem game
3. Input section is shown, but screen remains black

Expected behavior Game starts

• Device: Samsung TabS6, Note9, MotoZ
• OS: Android 10+

Additional context Retroarch shows bios.gg present, lemuroid does notvseem to recognise the bios as not shown in supported list.
