Disclamer In order to keep this bug tracker manageable, you need to keep a few things in mind: Any feature request not following this template will be closed as invalid Is the issue already opened? Try out a search before filing one.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I very intentionally do not have Google Play on my phone. I was using the F-Droid version of Lemuroid but it hasn't been updated in a long time so I downloaded Aurora Store and reinstalled Lemuroid from it. But it is completely nonfunctional. It requires downloading cores from Play, which, as previously stated is not and will never be installed on my phone.

Describe the solution you'd like I'd like for the F-Droid release to be updated, or for the Play release to download cores from another source.

Describe alternatives you've considered None. Lemuroid is my best option for emulation.

Just download from Google play It's no big deal

kipuyanoo commented 1 year ago

I appreciate the comment, but Google Play is a big deal in my case. I'm a tinkerer and a nerd, and so I tend to shun software that doesn't respect my freedoms. I try not to use Google, because they directly oppose almost everything I stand for.

Use Aurora You can download play store apps without using Google play store It's on fdriod

Which is still not the same. I am only using F-Droid, too. "Just use Google", in whatever way, Playstore or Aurora, is not a valid option for me.

There were releases for F-Droid before, so the question is, why not anymore? Is it much work? Are there difficulties? Can we actively improve the situation or process in some way?

Me too. You can download the APK from pages like Uptodown or Apkpure, that will work for you but the cores will not be updated.

Personally, I'm still using Retroarch with a minimalist configuration but I'm thinking of switching to Lemuroid because of its simplicity, but there are still some things to improve.
