Hey, sorry to bother but I am having an issue. I tried this on my brothers computer. Everything worked pretty well. Computer is much faster, thanks alot for that. Issue is, I forgot customizing blacklist then tried "remove bloatware with customized blacklist". I didn't know that it will delete documents folder. Bro's ets2 promods has gone. How can I prevent this?

I do not take responsibility for what may happen to your system. This is at your own risk.

Did you read this before running? lol. This is the price for using oudated and abandoned scripts. Use normal one instead of this: https://github.com/farag2/Windows-10-Sophia-Script

Despite I'm not this script maintainer may be I could help you. Write to my Discord: sanctuary_s#6351.

It’s been some time since I have been active here, but are you talking about deleted OneDrive documents? Or just documents in general? I don’t believe it should have deleted any documents.

@farag2 - This isn't necessarily outdated or abandoned. It has been some time since it has last been updated, but it doesn't mean the project was abandoned.

Sycnex commented 3 years ago

@ertodebana - What exact powershell script did you run? And what did you click? Do you have the log file located in "C:\Temp\Windows10Debloater"?

M-m, really? You have 8k stars and provide users outdated code that even doesn't work. You can compare with mine if you want. And look and your 175 issues. Users still run your script, and destroy their OSes. Lol

@ertodebana - Are you still having an issue? I'm just following up on this.

tried my friends computer, worked well. It could be caused by ets2 promods. Thanks for help.

@farag2 what's wrong with you? It's not helping at all.

I will say that I also experienced this issue. The debloater copied 3 of my folders, but I had about twelve. Checking the logs, shows that everything worked fine. Loading a restore point didn't bring back the files. I know it's not your fault, but do you know if the documents could ever be recovered? 1: You seem to not have ran the script as administrator, making some of the folders not transfer. 2: The folders can simply be found in your OneDrive. You can get them back by downloading them online off the OneDrive website, or re-installing OneDrive.

My files weren't in my onedrive at all. I recovered most of my files using another program, but now half of my documents are corrupted. Again, that was my fault. But stopping the program, if administrator privileges aren't granted, would be a great safety feature.

It is mentioned several times in the README.

This didn't work because I don't use onedrive and didn't realize the "documents", "desktop" and "pictures" folders weren't normal windows folders but onedrive folders. Now the files aren't on onedrive and all deleted...
