How are you sure that it isn’t removing anything when using the custom list? In my testing it appears to be using it.

100%.

  1. Everything except "Microsoft.Windows.Search" and "Microsoft.WindowsCalculator" is blacklisted in custom-lists.ps1, yet nothing gets removed (even after a restart)
  2. "Bloatware removed!" appears less than one second after clicking "REMOVE BLOATWARE WITH CUSTOM BLOCKLIST". It can't possibly remove anything in such a short amount of time.
  3. When I click "REMOVE ALL BLOATWARE", something like "Deployment in progress" is displayed at the top of Powershell. This is not the case with "...CUSTOM BLOCKLIST"

Note: this isn't a big issue for me, as "REMOVE ALL BLOATWARE" does what I want. Feel free to prioritize other issues/features over this one :)

It sounds like it isn’t running the remove bloat ware function as it is supposed to. Do you happen to have the contents of the log in C:\Windows10Debloater?

Setting $ErrorActionPreference = 'Continue' in $RemoveBlacklistedBloatware.Add_Click() (line 667) yields these errors:

I have the same problem, nothing happens when I click the save button to the custom blacklist. No lines show up in powershell and nothing changes in the gui as well. I think the issue might be that my computer failed to create a system restore point, becuase 24 hours had not passesd, but I am not sure if that is was is causing this problem or not.

I’m hoping to have some time this week to look into this further. I’ve been incredibly busy with life in general so I hope I can have something narrowed down this week. I would also like to see if I can recreate this issue.

Check the "date modified" value of custom-lists.ps1. Does it change when you click the save button?

Failing to create a restore point is probably not the issue here. It's normal for it to fail if one has been created in the last 24 hours and it shouldn't affect the behaviour of the script.

Also, where is the script being ran from? It might be possible that you don’t have write access to the custom lists.ps1 file in the location it resides in.

So I reinstalled windows and it worked. You were right I did not have acess custom file.

I just downloaded the latest version of Debloater (I had been using an older version from several months ago) and saving the custom blacklist did not work. Opening the blacklist after saving did not remember any of my settings. For now I'm ignoring the blacklist because I already ran it once and it removed stuff I didn't want removed and had to do a system restore.

Hi,

The only solution I found to this problem is to copy the code from a Notepad and then launch powershell as administrator, press CRLT+V and launch the command.
