I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung have changed the music player from the
default
S60 one to something else, or changed something else in there that's not
consistent.
Mobbler's Last.fm radio will probably still work, but unfortunately that's only
half
of it.
The Samsung music player is shown 4 minutes in to this video, looks a bit
different
to the N95 one.

Did i make a bad mistake changing to a Samsung then...? it kinda feels like
it...
finding information about specific things for this phone over the internet has
proven
harder than with other phones i've had in the past...

I was at the smartphone show the other week and tried Mobbler on a Samsung
there. It
would always close a couple of seconds after openning. I don't think that the
Music
App was doing anything either.
Someone reported that it was working on their Samsung a while ago, but I can't
rememeber what model it was.
I would like to know what the problem is, but without having a Samsung myself
it is
very difficult to do anything.

hmnm... seems I'll have to give up on Mobbler for a while until someone finally
finds
out how to solve the problem... or well, finds out what the actual problem
is... its
such a shame... cos Mobbler seems like such an amazing app... =/

This is weird - it's exactly the same problem I have on my N95 right now. I only
experience the issue with Mobbler 0.4.4 or 0.4.5. After downgrading to 0.3.5
everything's working again. I have logged this as a separate issue since the
phone
and versions are completely different.

I also have the i8510 and experience the same issue. :( I get the feeling this
is
never going to get fixed?

Hello. Does this happen with the latest version of Mobbler?
Original comment by eartle@gmail.com

Yes it does. I tried downgrading to 0.3.5 (comment 13) but that does not seem
to matter.
I would like to test for you since you don't own a Samsung, if possible. I own
the i8510.
BTW: great software, would like to see it as a player for mp3 too so it can
replace
the standard but not so featured player.

Just tried the latest version (mobbler_0_6_5124) and problem is still the same.
Tried also the earlier 0.3.5 like in comment #13 but it's no good.
Any chance of getting this fixed?
Am willing to beta-test.
The idea of a built-in music player would be ideal, then you won't have to open
the
Samsung's media player (that causes mobbler to crash) any more.

Just to report: Tried the latest version of mobbler (0.07.6187) and the issue
still
persists.
I am also willing to test like tomsaxman.

Hi, I finally found a solution to scrobble tracks from the i8510 to your
last.fm.
I'm posting it here because there'll never be a mobbler solution in my opinion.
I did it with Aspyplayer beta 4.
Here's what to do:
1. download PythonForS60_1_4_0RC1_3rdEd_selfsigned.SIS and
PythonScriptShell_1_4_0RC1_3rdEd_selfsigned.SIS from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pys60/files/ .
2. download Aspy player beta 4 from
http://www.brothersoft.com/mobile/aspy-player-download-62239.html
3. copy all files to your handset
4. install pythonfors60
5. install pythonscriptshell
6. install the aspy player sis
7. open aspy player, fill in the right settings for last.fm and internet
connectivity
and you're good to go!
