Font issues with 0.4.4 #375

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
The font face used for 0.4.4 is not working on N95-4. Firmware is newest
available for model (v20.2.005). Text appears as empty boxes with the
occasional pixelfont-style capital letters.

Screenshot is attached.

That doesn't look too good. We'll have a look into it.

Could you both install fonts preview...

...and let us know which fonts there are installed on your devices. Thanks.

Same here on an E71(RM-346) running the latest firmware version 210.21.006.

Mobbler shows up on the screen exactly as shown in the screen-shot of the first
post.
Thanks!

Can't install that app, it's complaining about an expired certificate. I've
already
set App Manager to software install=all, online cert check=off, so I'm not sure
what
else I can do to make it install.

Same problem on my E71.

Installed Font Preview, run the app, scroll to 2/3, most are boxes except
0-9A-F.

Rather than Mobbler trying to set a hardcoded font, it might be better to use
something like CEikonEnv: NormalFont():

Downloaded the fonts preview app. The 2/3 font displays the same as it does in
mobbler screen shot shown above. Searched around the net for a bit but can't
figoure
how to tell which font I am missing or how to install it. The fonts shown in
preview
are as follows

[0/3] Sans MT UniT_HKSCS_S60
[1/3] Sans MT 936_S60
[2/3] garbled unreadable

Installed it, looking good. The line-height/font metrics look like they might
be a
touch off... if you're pixel-pushing this around you might want to adjust; the
first
line's ascender is touching the bottom of the album art.
