Hi, I have also reproduced this problem. I carried out a hard reset *#7370# of
my
Nokia N97 UK version and installed Mobbler on the phone and when i went to
enter my
last.fm login info the error message appears. However if I restore Settings
from the
Content Copier backup and install mobbler again then i am able to enter the
login
information.
Something is missing which Mobbler is dependant on, but the reason for me hard
resetting is greater because of some duff protected setting and GPS responce.

I can confirm this issue occuring on my Nokia 5800XM firmware v21. It only
occurs
after a hard reset. I am guessing this will become more of an issue as phones
start
to ship with v21 as it probably has to do something with the updated default
settings.

Same issue on N97 running v11.0.021. Error message "unable to execute file for
security reasons" is displayed as soon as I select Settings.
Ths happens all the time on my phone, right from installation.
Being unable to modify the settings means I can't enter my account details and
go
online, which basically makes the application useless :)

This could be a bug with S60, that it doesn't let Mobbler create or open its
settings file, which is in Mobbler's private directory.
It seems this error happens with:
* Nokia 5800 v21
* Nokia 5800 v21.0.025
* Nokia N79 v30.019
* Nokia N97 v11.0.021
But it works with:
* Nokia 5800 v30
So if you have a 5800, a firmware update should fix it.
Otherwise, which drive do you have Mobbler installed on? If it's the E: drive
(e.g.
memory card), please try installing to the C: drive/phone memory and let us
know if
that helps. It might be worth uninstalling from E: first as well.

I have just purchased the new Nokia 5530. I just installed Mobbler and I am
getting

Have tried uninstalling and installing on both memory card and internal phone
memory.
Neither work.

There's been no firmware updates for this model yet so I'm on v021.013.
I can't change my settings because of this security error, so I can't input my

The file is in our private directory so I don't think you can access the file.
Even
if you could, it would be difficult to edit it as it is in a binary format.
I'm still not sure what is causing this issue, and as I cannot reproduce it
myself it
is very difficult to investigate further.

Thanks for the offer, arijitbr! I'll come back to you if I can think of some
useful
things to print out.
Could someone with this problem try scrobbling a few tracks in offline mode? I
would
like to know if Mobbler is able to create its track queue file. You should be
able
to listen to a few music player tracks, and after restarting Mobbler it should
still
have them in the queue. This will let us know if the problem is because Mobbler
can't create files in its own private directory or it is because of something
else.
Thanks!

eartle,
I think it was able to write to its queue file. I started Mobbler (in offline
mode), then went to the nokia music player and played a couple of tracks.
Switched back
to Mobbler, underneath the track progress bar it read .. "0 scrobbled - 2
queued" ..
Hope this helps?

I also changed the SD card to see if it'll solve the problem (I installed the

OK, we now have a Symbian Signed version of Mobbler that should fix this.
Please can
you try Mobbler 1.x?
Note: Symbian-Signed versions have major version 1 and a solid red logo.
Self-signed
versions have major version 0 and the crazy paving version of the logo. We hope
to
only release Symbian-Signed versions from now on and use self-signed versions
for
beta testing.

I hav Nokia 5800. 40.0.005.
Mobbler now works almost flawlessly. Good Work! Thank You!
But the next issue is the tremendous amount of traffic used to scrobble a
single track.
Around 30KB to submit one track - it's too much so, I still stick with the
Vodafone
scrobbler which uses only around 1-2KB per track, which is awesome of course.
Yes I know Vodafone doesn't have internet radio, but I'm talking only about
scrobbling.
Original comment by jahnz...@gmail.com
on 16 Feb 2010 at 6:17
Yes, if you're scrobbling in online mode we do a few things like try to fetch
the
album art and check if the artist is touring (I think that's it). You can turn
off
the album art fetching, but not the touring thing at the moment.
Perhaps we should add an option for turning that off. Or maybe it would be
better to
have a more general "only scrobble" setting to override any other network
usage.
That should be raised as a seperate issue though.
I'll close this one as fixed.
