This mod is the first GCYS addon i know of, which makes heavy changes to early game and has a few gameplay changes

• cluster mill and curved plates are back
• alloy smelter got removed, use multiblocks for metling, alloying, and casting (similar to tinkers)
• LV machines need "galvanized steel" which need some more brick multiblocks
• iron, wrought steel and steel production are now a bit more realistic
• has its own distillation overhaul apparently
