While I'm generally not opposed to neat ZI chains and processes, I'd commend this to be removed or moved to a higher tier/greater energy and feedstock requirement.
Instead, sifting sand blocks should yield a small amount of quartz sand, which can also spawn as random deposit overwriting sand. Quartz sand blocks can also be obtained from sedimentary-class rock processing.
