[MAINTENANCE] synocommunity.com down #1452

Closed Diaoul closed 9 years ago

Diaoul commented 9 years ago

Due to performance issues, the server will be down for maintenance for a few days.

Manual downloads available at: http://synocommunity.com/packages/

lihoru99 commented 9 years ago

The Packages could be back today? By the way, I found after the update of DSM 5.1, the new installation of Transmission is no longer has an icon in Synology start menu, the only way to access is through packages center. My device is 415play. Hope can fix it. Thanks.

Superturk10 commented 9 years ago

When is the server getting back on? And if not soon, how do i install the manual downloads from http://synocommunity.com/packages/ ?

piwi82 commented 9 years ago

This is similar to DSM 4.3 : https://www.synology.com/en-us/knowledgebase/tutorials/500#t2.3

Superturk10 commented 9 years ago

The only problem is, i don't speak/read french...

Find your architecture here : https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/wiki/Architecture-per-Synology-model

DieBruine commented 9 years ago

And don't forget to change the Trust Level to "any publisher" under Package Center Settings.

DieBruine commented 9 years ago

Use piwi82's link to check which version you need. Then download it manually at http://synocommunity.com/packages/python/11/ . It's all here on this page ;) .

karpertje commented 9 years ago

Oké DieBruine i understand that but witch version do i need python_11_armada370_4458.spk or python_11_armada370-_1594. spk. Is this the same for the sapnzb version. As i said everything about the nas is new for me

Superturk10 commented 9 years ago

Persoonlijk neem ik de gene met de hoogste nummer

aamri111 commented 9 years ago

Hi everyone. I cannot find sonarr in the packages list. can anyone help me to get the spk file for sonar. I am using a synology ds1815+

Dr-Bean commented 9 years ago

@uichiban No, you can use 2.7.3-3 or higher, as long as you use Python 2 (do not use the Python3 package) @aamri111 The package is called nzbdrone due to backwards compatibility.

aamri111 commented 9 years ago

@Dr-Bean Thanks! I was looking for the file for 2 days. You are a life saver :)

Jeniccs commented 9 years ago

Hi there, I'd like to install ownCloud using the Synology DSM but it does not working because the source http://packages.synocommunity.com/ is not there. Is it because of the maintenance? Or how can I install ownCloud manually?

aamri111 commented 9 years ago

@Jeniccs You can access the below link and dowload it manually http://synocommunity.com/packages/

You may need to check the spk compatibility using the below link

https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/wiki/Architecture-per-Synology-model

LongChair commented 9 years ago

Is there any ETA on the website / repo to be back ... redirection still mention jan 21st ? :)

Jeniccs commented 9 years ago

@aamri111 Thank you for the links! I've tried to install the package manually but this still didn't worked because the source of the package is unknown. But I can't add the SynoCommunity to the packages becuase the source was not found...

Diaoul commented 9 years ago

I am still working on it. Salt makes this a little harder than expected.

Superturk10 commented 9 years ago

What is the definition of "salt"?

aamri111 commented 9 years ago

@Jeniccs make sure you change the trust level to any publisher you can change that from the setting. You can't add SynoCommunity right now its down.

Jeniccs commented 9 years ago

@Diaoul Take your time! Dates are unimportant, simple make sure, everything works.

Jeniccs commented 9 years ago

@aamri111 Thanks, you were right again :) But ownCloud can not be installed because the Directory does not exist. What did I wrong? And let me be honest, I'm a noob...

Diaoul commented 9 years ago

SaltStack is a tool for provisioning a server (and much more)

aamri111 commented 9 years ago

@Jeniccs I haven't used this app before :) but try to leave it empty or change the directory to a shared folder found in volume1

Jeniccs commented 9 years ago

@aamri111 It's still not working :( But thanks a lot for yor help and advices!

Conq1942 commented 9 years ago

How can I help @Diaoul :(

cow-brat commented 9 years ago

I want to download transmission for my Synology 110j. I found out, that it has 88f6281 architecture. But the folder "transmission" has five sub-folders: "6", "7", "8", "9", "10". What does they mean? Which to choose? Moreover, when i download file from randomly chosen folder "10" it has extension "tar" but i need "spk". Can you advice me something?

Superturk10 commented 9 years ago

I am wondering why your 100J still hasen't burned out... But i personally choose the highest with spk. If 10 doesn't have it go to 9 and if that doesn't have it got 8. Just go on and on...

@Superturk10 Why it should?

Ok. But why in the status bar i can see spk package, but when i start to download it, it turns out to be tar?

@Superturk10 Oh, thanks. But none of the five files "88f6281" i was able to install. It's pity.

Superturk10 commented 9 years ago

I think because your Synology is outdated

If there was a way, I'd love to host a mirror to continue providing these files to the syno community. Msg me.

Diaoul commented 9 years ago

The repository will be back in a few days. I'm almost done with the basic configuration.

Superturk10 commented 9 years ago

Why did it actually take so long?

Diaoul commented 9 years ago

Because I have dissociated the repository source code from SynoCommunity, changed OS to Ubuntu Server for python3 >=3.3, used SaltStack instead of Fabric for better robustness, changed from mariadb to postgresql to hopefuly solve performance issues.

plopes1960 commented 9 years ago

@Diaoul can you help me to install manually python and transmission on my Synology 212j with DSM 5.1

piwi82 commented 9 years ago

@plopes1960 : You can download the packages manually here : http://synocommunity.com/packages/ and install them manually through the Package Center. If you don't know how to proceed, just wait for the repository to be back online.

plopes1960 commented 9 years ago

but if you could explain how to do it, all of us that don't know, it will be much better

egeerardyn commented 9 years ago

@plopes1960 From http://synocommunity.com/packages/ you can find the SPK files you need. To know which SPK you need, you need to know the architecture of our NAS, e.g. from https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/wiki/Architecture-per-Synology-model Then you can upload the SPK to your NAS using the approach shown in https://www.synology.com/en-us/knowledgebase/tutorials/500#t2.3

This has all been mentioned in this thread before.

However, I would advise against installing SPKs manually if you don't know what you are doing: rather wait a few days for the repository to become available again.

plopes1960 commented 9 years ago

Ok, I have ds212j - architecture 88f6281, so I need spk transmission_10_88f628x_1594.spk-1.tar, but I remember that I need python as weel. Wich python do I need? Python or python 3?

egeerardyn commented 9 years ago

@plopes1960 That's exactly why I advise NOT to install manually: you need to take care of these dependencies by hand while installing a single package is already outside your comfort zone.

Just wait for the repo to come back online, that should happen in a few days. It is much less of a hassle than trying to fix your package manager if you would do something wrong.

plopes1960 commented 9 years ago

thanks in advance... but if now oneelse tell us the way to do it,... Even if the server it's up and running, I would like to know how to do it in case the server goes off again

gvdhoven commented 9 years ago

One question not answered here; if i know my architecture and succesfully installed the required packages manually... What if the repo comes back online and i can add the repo to my 'sources' after that. Will future updates work automatically? Or do i have to remove the packages and install them through the repo?
