Setup

_Package Name:_synocommunity Package Version:

_NAS Model:_DS718+ _NAS Architecture:_64-bit _DSM version:_DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 5

Expected behavior

I like the packages SABnzbd, FFmpeg. After installing the package resource http://packages.synocommunity.com/ there are a very few packages available. It works fine with my DS712+.

Actual behavior

There are only 15 packages available.

Steps to reproduce

_1._install the source _2._select community

Hope someone can help me or is it just a little patience?

Patience only... Refer to FAQ...

Keekeboo commented 7 years ago

I read the faq. Wasn't sure because 15 apps are available.... You helped me with your answer. Thank you.

Looks like this is the same as on the 918+. Guess some packages need updating for the new models right? For example, there's no git and sickrage asks for both git and python. The latter is available and works but doesn't seem to satisfy the requirement. Guess it will take some time to properly identify the architecture and set up the packages. Patience is a virtue ;)

For details: Synology provides two Git and Python packages which are different from SynoCommunity ones - which were provided far before with more recent / more dependencies included.

Rajackar commented 7 years ago

Thanks. I understand. I see the git server package and 2 python packages. However installing them doesn't seem to satisfy the requirements for sickrage or couch potato. Guess this will take a bit of patience but I'm getting off topic.

Ahh- same issue I'm having with my new 918+. Glad to see this isn't something wrong my my system config...

Rajackar commented 7 years ago

I was able to get some things running using docker containers. Just install docker and get the right containers from the registry.

new 18 series NAS has apollo lake CPU arch, not braswell, so for the time being most of the packages doesn't support new devices. I'm waiting too...

Same for me. Update my Olivier DS410 with DS418

tristangrichard commented 7 years ago

mixuk commented 7 years ago

Yeah, DS918+ here, would love an update.

barb76 commented 7 years ago

Hi guys, just for your information I'm using a DS718+ and docker for running Sickrage, Sabnzbd anb couchpotato without any issues. It's just more RAM consumming but with 2Go its fine.

banshee1971 commented 7 years ago

It was my second option to do... but Docker not there on DS418 !

tchirou commented 7 years ago

flagging this as I migrated today from a DS414j to a DS418 and I am discovering this problem
