I see no reason for the current down-vote, the issue is just providing information.
I also think that the mentioned resource hints are within a bigger scope that Decentraleyes cannot fill alone.
But IIRC all the things mentioned in the blog article can be disabled by via prefs in about:config
.
See "Prefetching" in How to stop Firefox from making automatic connections (support.mozilla.org).
Hi everyone, and thanks for sharing your personal thoughts and findings.
The extension automatically disables link prefetching. This is needed, in order to prevent any disallowed requests from leaking out to delivery networks. So, I'm happy to say that users are already protected.
This is [...] nothing decentraleyes need to worry about, [...] and no one likes slow [...] loading [...].
@CHEF-KOCH Feel free to uncheck "Disable link prefetching" inside of the extension options screen.
Thanks for all the input Che & Syn. What strikes the most here is that it wasn't too long ago when there was only "prefetch" --- fast forward to at least 4 different features for the browser and server to chat. This is not an end of this evolution... Good to keep an eye on. CHEF-KOCH thanks for posting detailed intro of those flags. Much appreciated.
