I got 2 BSOD and now my fans are always on high speed... (Not what I wanted) #389

I wanted to reduce my fans noise, which AWCC never managed to help me with so I tried AlienFX instead. All I managed to achieve was getting 2 BSOD (very scary), and a resulting louder fan noise.

I now understand that users use this tool to increase their fan speed (and not decrease it), so it was my mistake to use this tool for the opposite purpose.

Now my question is how do I get back to the default settings? I've tried restarting my laptop a few times but my fans are still much louder than before. Or better yet, is there a way to reduce the fan speed as much as possible using this app? Or do I have to go back to AWCC and stick with their "Quiet" settings?

My laptop is Alienware X15R2, here are my current settings. image

Thanks for your help!

BSOD? In case your NOT use v1 variant, it CAN NOT produce BSOD. So can you be a little bit more specific about what kind of BSOD, and then you get it?

AWCC's thermal modes is still here, it named "Power mode", so you can switch back to quiet as well.

About decrease fan noise, it depends on BIOS settings (yes, even in Manual mode), but quiet is usually calmer one - for the price of reduced performance (power limits).
