Another option is to switch to a more docker based flow. This approach sacrifices scalability for easier development.

Edit: would mean redoing the cloud architecture but the difficulties with backend right now might be a bottleneck to productivity

Edit2: actually this is not a good idea. It would cost a couple weeks for no real benefit. Easier approach is to speed up dev by providing s3 credentials and hoping nobody gets hacked
