What about the license on this software? Is it possible to modify it?

Yes, the license is quite permissive, as it says: "Source Code and Executable Files can be used in commercial applications; Source Code and Executable Files can be redistributed; and Source Code can be modified to create derivative works." so you can reuse it to make your own projects.
