Re-verified issue was triggered with currently installed Lmod version (8.7.15)
Cloned and switched to testing branch
Verified correct branch by checking that git log listed Issue Issue #662
Built and installed test version ( Lmod says 8.7.29 )
Switched Lmod versions:

"module --default avail" or "ml -d av" to just list the default modules.
"module overview" or "ml ov" to display the number of modules for each name.
Use "module spider" to find all possible modules and extensions.

The fix for this issue has been merged into the main branch and has been released as Lmod version 8.7.30

I have updated the testing branch on github to handle long number strings differently. Please use the testing branch to see if it works for you.
