Sonic 3 & Knuckles ROM from SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics not found in database #3761

When loading up the "Sonic_Knuckles_wSonic3.bin" file found in the Steam release of SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics (now delisted, thanks Sega), it's stated that the ROM is not in the database. The other .bin ROM from this release I tested (Space Harrier II) does not seem to have this problem.

Here's the hash for the ROM that was given to me by BizHawk: B711A909CCE238CA4AF3E517A2EDCA306228EFA5

What was the MD5 hash that was given to you?

Murphmario commented 1 year ago

It didn't seem to give me one, just a value labeled "Hash". I did try the ROM Hasher tool on Romhacking.net, which gave me this for both the file and ROM MD5: CFCC692427348E58682230A27D9E365D

The SHA-1 was the same as the one provided above.

CasualPokePlayer commented 1 year ago

That makes no sense here, BizHawk normally gives an MD5 and SHA1 (this is the default ROM details the frontend generates, the core doesn't do anything special here) image

Where exactly are you finding "Hash" here?

Murphmario commented 1 year ago

I got the hash from the popup that appears when attempting to load the rom. image

Also I'm new at all this.

CasualPokePlayer commented 1 year ago

Ah, that makes sense here.
