Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 - No Video Issue #145

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.The Camera wont show any video 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected result is that I would like to see the video coming from the webcam

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000
Windows 8.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I have recently purchased a Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 Webcam and I cant seem to 
get the Webcam to show any video. I have got it set to the webcam rather than 
it being set to the webcam which is already pre-installed on the laptop. There 
seems to be no problem when I use the webcam on Skype but for some reason, it 
seems to not want to work on Google Hangouts.

It has now managed to sort itself out. I plugged it into my laptop and Google 
Hangouts recognised the webcam straight away. don't know whether or not it will 
happen again though
