can I take this issue to work on?
From dam...@gmail.com on March 10, 2014 01:27:40
Junchao, After you've delivered the first issue, you can submit patches to any issue without getting it assigned to you first.

some clarification needed, the link is to mailto all the students in the list like a link to a mailing list? or what?
From dam...@gmail.com on March 10, 2014 02:31:37
Yes, all emails that have been filtered out by the filters.
By the way, this issue has been tagged for first timers (see labels). not suitable for you. :-p

Hi, Is it like in the InstructorStudentList page i need to add a malito link so as to send emails to those 4 listed emails by clicking the link instead of sending it individually?
From dam...@gmail.com on March 10, 2014 16:44:27
See attached. I was thinking of an 'email all above' link in the area marked by the red rectangle.

I saw that just now. But I searched online. Some say it is not safe to do mailto a list of students. If we can create a mailing list for that, it will better. I am just contributing my idea
From dam...@gmail.com on March 10, 2014 20:39:58
Junchao, this is for sending an ad hoc email one time only. In some cases, it will be just one student. Email lists are a more permanent thing.
From franklin...@gmail.com on March 10, 2014 21:58:46
yes. I understand this. But seemingly http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9278363/emailing-to-multiple-recipients-with-html-mailto-not-working by default this does not work well.
But a link here: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/3345-mailto-select-contacts-and-compose-in-your-favourite-email-app/

Looks like it is not possible. Thanks for the pointer Junchao. An alternative is 'copy to clipboard' link so that the user can paste it in the email client. Not sure that can be done easily either.
From bsvsoumi...@gmail.com on March 11, 2014 04:58:05
ok so now i have to make a link to copy it a clipboard? Will give it a try.
From dam...@gmail.com on March 21, 2014 05:32:12
Try to finish this issue soon. It is better if you have delivered the issue before GSoC selection begins.

Sorry, will fix it by tom. Thanks
@damithc Is this acceptable?
@xpdavid yes, that can work. Does Ctrl+C
is understood by Mac users too?
There are some places in Teammates also using "... Ctrl + C
to copy ...".
I think user can always use right click to copy it. Maybe change it to
Email is now selected, you may copy it (
Ctrl + C
) and paste it (Ctrl + V
) to your email client.
Yes, I guess Mac users will know what to do. Should be Emails
.

Such a link makes it easier to email the students shown in the list.
