[FO4Edit] Ignores load order for two esp's #468

I have a little problem that ahs never happened before, and I don't know why. I am using FO4Edit through MO2 and recently added two new plugins, so I had to rebuild my Smashed Patch and wanted to edit it. And for some reason, FO4Edit ignores my load order just for those two esp's. I have checked everything I could think about: MO2's plugin.txt, loadorder.txt (not only their contents, but also their time stamps, they are both just four minutes old at the point of writing this), I also double checked I was using the most recent version of FO4Edit (I am) and now I am kind of at a loss.

Here is a picture of the load order and FO4Edit side by side: https://imgur.com/a/IpBnQ8m

If I somehow missed somethign or my question is realy stupid, I apologize.

FO4Edit doesn't use loadorder.txt (it is for Skyrim LE only) and doesn't use MO2's plugin.txt Only c:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Fallout4\plugins.txt is used to determine the load order, nothing else.

Tiltsch commented 6 years ago

But within that ini the load order is as it should be and FO4Edit still shows them at the bottom. That's the whole issue. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

Edit: I also added another mod today and it shows up where it should in FO4Edit's load order, it's just these two esp's that don't. Is there somethign wrong with those two?

The issue is MO which substitutes plugins.txt with something else in it's "virtual" file system, ask there.

Sharlikran commented 6 years ago

I doubt it's an issue with the plugins. We don't have control over what MO2 does. We have nothing against it but just don't use it. For example I use Wrye Bash, LOOT, and xEdit. I don't have any other mod manager installed.

The problem is like Zilav mentioned since LOOT, xEdit, and most of the Fallout 4 programs I know of no longer use loadorder.txt, it is never going to be updated. So if you sort with LOOT it will put plugins in the order it wants but will never reorder or touch loadorder.txt.

I just don't see how you will ever get MO2 to work correctly since no programs manage loadorder.txt anymore. It's not used for Fallout 4 or Skyrim SE.
