[Tool] World Generation #1262

Open BinaryConstruct opened 4 years ago

BinaryConstruct commented 4 years ago

This issue is to capture ideas for world generation. These are not guaranteed to be implemented, just brainstorming. If you have an idea comments are welcome.

Was that house generator along the lines of what you're looking for?

BinaryConstruct commented 3 years ago

This issue is more along the lines of using the new world dialog and customizing some generation options.

Terracustom had everything I could wish for to customize world generation, it only generates worlds for 1.3 right now so I guess world generation itself changed in 1.4 I guess on this context would be things like generating corruption/crimson chasms, world structures like pyramids, surface mountains.

From Discord

I've got no idea if this being added, but I'll say it anyways, possible that 1.4 in-game structures of Terraria (Dungeon, Lizhzarhrd Temple, etc..) could be used as pre-made schematics of sorts so that when making a flat world, you can have the necessities of a pretty common world.

I worked on this project a while back. Maybe something similar for TEdit could be done. Add a bunch of sliders for structural changes and such. I would love a way to generate an minecraft style “amplified” world from within the editor. The new world function definitely deserves some attention.
