Same problem and Issure #178 didn't work for me so please don't post something like Try #178. Maybe its because of me not understanding the Add LAA Flag to exe in Post-Build Events of C# Project:
The info in #178 is out of date and will not work for the current versions of TEdit as it is now XNA based, which is 32bit only.

The exception you listed looks like it was trying to load texture files from the Terraria game files, but could not load due to a missing file or lack of permissions to access the file.
If Terraria is installed, check to ensure this file exists. If it does not you may need to reinstall Terraria.
If the file does exist TEdit may need to be run as administrator to be able to access the file, since the file is located in Program Files folder. Windows Vista and up with UAC enabled block access to Program Files for programs outside the directory.

I've been using Tedit for a pretty long time, but today I opened the file and it said unhandled exception. The log is right here.
