For such a feature the voting is needed. Many people love X just for the lack of excess features.
Then organize a vote?
I mean if you pay attention to the group chat, this is like to most requested feature. And I think it is a quite fundamental one, nothing excessive.

There is main app for this features, isn't it? I think most of users like X version for minimalism and simplicity. Voting should help

Where the line between "minimalism and simplicity" and "excessive" lies is the key issue here. My opinion is that video call is essentially an upgraded version of audio call. And TGX already has audio call, and people don't seem to consider audio call a complicated gimmick.
You can always find someone with even less need than you, what do you think when that guy calls the feature you use a lot "excessive"?
Just came here to +1. Group call capabilities, video chat, and screen sharing would make Telegram X truly viable again as a main app alternative, perhaps the location sharing too. I am here as a refugee after the recent push with all the premium features, suggested sticker shenanigans, and "story" features. Also the "people nearby" is without fail just a source of spam and degeneracy, we can certainly do without that.
Also +1 for video calls.
Another vote for video calling
Of course, video calls is a big missing feature And screen share can also help people Thanks for the great work on this awesome app
I really prefer X, but to not support video calls make the app partially incompatible with the main one and the desktop version, making me to have both installed.
Anyway, this app is an alternative version, not a light version.
I'm sorry if I'm a bit late, did the vote already take place somewhere?
If yes and was decided against adding video calls, could the functionality be added but hidden behind a feature toggle? I think this would please both camps.
Any news related to video call?
