OK I'm happy with this now I think. Well done! :beers:

Check the reference formatting, I feel like you're missing some spaces. Mostly it's just fiddly stuff so I don't think I need to see this again, though I'll happily take a look before you submit to Biol Lett.

One thing though, can you check the word count "manually" on Google docs to make sure it's dealing with tables etc. properly? Should be fine but would be good to know now if we still need to cut stuff.

I think we're grant word wise. It's 2535 words on Google Scholar and 2450 on texcount. I assume the correct number is in between and depends on how words are counted (e.g. how many words is "*p <0.05;" ? Do headers count? Etc.).

And cites seems correct (official vancouver.bst file...). Also I check if the journal accepts LaTeX files on the submission system and it seems all good! Yay! :page_with_curl: :arrow_right: :package: :neckbeard:
