Referred by doesn't allow empty value #29

Reported by Leroy: Hey @[BWC] Patrick, Just wanted to mention. The referred by system could use a slight adjustment. For the new recruit I couldn't assign their primary game until putting Von-Benette's jacket number in the referred by spot.

As a temporary work around can we use the testsubject jacket number as a placeholder for new recruits that don't have a BWC member listed as referenced by?

A fix has already been deployed, I just need to update the repo and document the fix.
