1- Drone: for Bird view image, remote surveillance of the terrain, and tracking the dog 2- Wearable solar panel on the harness

I do research (and development, in some cases) in both of these fields in case we want to pursue these ideas further during the hackathon or after.

1 - (Light sport aircraft for cross-country flight, unmanned aerial system for search and rescue (finalized), unmanned aerial system for precision agriculture (in progress)) 2 - (Thin film based photovoltaic technology - research out of Penn State)

"Alta Devices just showed one of their experiments in which their conservative solar panel rig (on an <55lb UAS) managed to up their flight time to over 9 hrs.

The cost per watt is pretty high ($100/per), but they said they're projecting it to be $10/watt in 4 years: if we have the surface area, maybe this is something to factor in to our analysis over the next 5 years?"

Future implementation idea for the adopt-a-dog service (statistics tracking/beautiful deliverable): http://aprilzero.com

(Particularly the /sport tab)

It looks like that developer has since developed a statistics tracking platform (still in alpha, though [sadface])
