Top Vulnerabilities Content from services.teammentor.net is not present on teammentor.net (production) #16

Closed BendixSpring closed 11 years ago

BendixSpring commented 11 years ago

I could not find the Top Vulnerabilities content library from services.teammentor.net on the production (TM 3.2) instance.

As it stands now, paying clients will have to go to services to find the Top Vulnerabilities library which defeats the purpose of the product.

I don't think that that library should be there.

This is a library created by the Service's team (i.e.hand picked TM articles), to be used/linked, by them on Security reports (delivered after Security Engagements)

So this is a subset of the content you will find in TeamMentor.net

I agree. I am going to close this one

We are in the midst of revising the reports that go to clients, and one of the things we are doing is putting links to content hosted on Team Mentor and services.teammentor.net.

The Top Vulnerabilities library is a very useful slice of the content. Why would we only have it on services? (Apparently services is free for anybody to use). Yet we wouldn’t include that view in the pay-for product? I just don’t get it.

If we are trying to help people find the right content when they need it, why are we making them look in two different places?

The Top Vuln library is a subset of all the articles that are already in the pay-for product. If we were to include the library it will generate duplicate articles. Makes sense?

Also the idea is that TM users (like the SI Services team) should be creating custom libraries for their needs.

Note that if a paid customer wanted to use that 'top 25' library today they can install it directly from the TM Control Panel.

Also the idea is link from those 'free' articles to the 'client only' articles (ie soft upsell)

Yes, it makes sense. But the presentation of the information is so valuable, so consider making a library with just a landing page. It really is valuable.

This is planned. We considered doing it in 3.3 but didn't have everything worked out yet, its important to get good linking to the various tech-specific articles, etc.
