Hi, Great theme - thank you for creating and sharing. I love it. I was wondering whether I can add 'racing' as a permanent folder and how I do it. I have gone into the settings and used custom folder to create a racing folder and them linked my racing games from my arcade folder to it but I would like to be able to remove them from the arcade folder and only have them in the racing folder. I tried creating a racing folder on my folder but I can't go into es_config and hardcode it because it says I do not have permissions. Can someone help or tell me where I can find the answer please? Also - would love a Pinball folder added in the future please with artwork. I am using a Raspberry Pi 3 with retoarch and emulationstation. Thanks in advance. DtM

There is already a "racing" collections theme and it sounds like you already were able to create the custom list by going into the main menu and doing it through the Game Collection Settings and selecting "Create New Custom Collection from Theme"

I would like to be able to remove them from the arcade folder and only have them in the racing folder.

If you want to have all your racing games in a single list and not be in the Arcade theme and Racing theme, then what you may have to do is to create another system within the es_system config file and change the to racing. This should force it to use that theme. However you will run into the issue that all these racing games MUST be on the same system. For example you can't have Arcade racing games and N64 racing games in the same list as this new theme you just added to the es_systems config only supports one emulator to launch into. That is why custom themes allows for multiple systems instead of just hard coding it to one.

My advice would be to create a custom list like you already have and just got to the ones you want to HIDE in the Arcade theme and edit there Metadata to have it hidden. That way you have have the benefit of not seeing them in your Arcade list, only seeing them in your racing list, and allowed to add other racing games from other systems.

Also I have a fork of the theme over here https://github.com/Zenjir0/es-theme-ComicBook and discussion for the theme is here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/9211/new-comic-book-theme

@Zenjir0

Thank you for your reply and support. I appreciate you taking time out of your day to help.

I tried to hide the games within the arcade folder using the 'hidden' option in the meta data option list but they are still there? Any ideas why that is because hiding is the ideal solution for me.

Great to see you have reinvigorated some passion into an already awesome theme and brought it alive again. I'll be watching with anticipation. Will it be added to the Retropie option so I can install? I really don't want to mess up my current collection which has taken days / weeks / months to create. I'll have to try and remember how I add a new theme via WinSCP from my PC.

Would also love a Pinball theme so I'll wait patiently for that one ;)

I see you are playing around with the font which is good. I wonder if there's a way to auto size the marquees to appear as big as possible. I have been going in and resizing them manually before using them. Very time consuming.

Keep up the great work! DtM
